What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach Coordinator/Western New York Branch Program Manager position at Center for Inquiry?
Full-Time Position - Location: CFI Headquarters in Amherst, NY (near Buffalo).
The outreach coordinator works with CFI branches, communities, and affiliated campus groups, helping establish new branches, communities, and campus groups as well as coordinating with currently existing groups. The outreach coordinator puts on CFI events, conferences, meetings, and speaking tours around the country as well as online. The outreach coordinator builds online communities such as book clubs, discussion groups, and other regularly scheduled meetings as a way to keep members and supporters engaged and expand CFI’s reach. The outreach coordinator builds a volunteer corps to assist in these activities. The outreach coordinator is also the Western New York Branch Program Manager, designing and coordinating programming, maintaining records, and building membership with the Buffalo-region branch (between 8 and 10 hours per week).
Duties include:
* Building, organizing, and managing CFI’s nationwide branch, community, and campus programs.
* Implementing and supervising the budgeting process for branches, and assisting in fundraising,
* Organizing and managing online community-building activities such as regular book club meetings, discussion groups, and other offerings of interest to various audiences.
* Organizing and managing small and large events, speaking tours, conferences, and meetings, nationwide, including for the Western New York Branch.
* Developing and implementing statewide activism campaigns.
* Managing social media properties and website maintenance for the Outreach Dept. and the Western New York Branch.
* Recruiting, managing, and supervising interns for the Outreach Dept. and other CFI departments.
* Recruiting, managing, and supervising volunteers, in person and online.
* Coordinating with other CFI departments to enlist activists and volunteers in CFI endeavors.
* Producing materials and engaging in public relations, marketing, and fundraising.
* Writing for print and online publications.
* Strategic planning for future growth in operations.
* Maintaining records of the Outreach Dept. and the Western New York Branch.
* Organizing and maintaining CFI’s Speakers Bureau and other Outreach programs.
* Producing regular reports for the board, management, donors, and others.
* Responding to requests for information, materials, and assistance.
* Performing other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Commitment to CFI's mission and the ability to advocate for the objectives of that mission.
* Experience with building and coordinating affiliation groups, grassroots organizing, and activism.
* Experience coordinating events, programming, conferences, and meetings both in person and online.
* Ability to self-motivate and be self-directed with minimal supervision.
* Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
* Ability to communicate clearly to different audiences by email, on the phone, and in person.
* Professionalism, both in person and online.
* Ability to be creative and flexible with a positive, can-do attitude.
* Experience with current social media platforms and online technology.
* Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
* Experience managing volunteers, both in person and online.
* Data entry and data management, using Excel as well as database software.
* Writing and proofreading articles, emails, web content, reports, and fundraising and marketing materials.
* Experience editing and posting podcasts and webcasts.
* Familiarity with the secular and skeptic movements.
Educational Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree required,
* Graduate degree preferred.

Compensation:
Starting salary range: $42,000 to $50,000 based on experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan contributions, paid vacation, paid holidays, and sick leave, and life insurance, among other benefits.
