What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aerospace Inspector position at Center Industries?
SUMMARY:
Performs various inspections to ensure product meets engineering requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned as required or needed.
Primary Job Responsibility in one or more of the following areas:
· Bench Inspection - Inspects products for dimensional accuracy and surface defects per engineering and specifications using required inspection tools/gages. Performs quality checks/tests on products at various stages of production.
· Inspection Tool Calibration – Maintains Calibration Database and schedules outside calibrations as required. Verifies outside calibration certifications. Performs in-house calibrations and maintenance of measurement tools.
· Raw Material Inspection/Coordination – Receives and inspects raw material and certifications to ensure purchase order and company requirements/processes are met. Ensures proper material segregation, traceability and storage. Issues raw material to work orders and ensures excess drop material is identified and received back to the material crib.
· Small Parts Assembly Inspection - Inspects assemblies for dimensional accuracy and ensures product meets engineering and specification requirements. Performs quality checks/tests on products at various stages of production. Sealant Certification required. Electrical Bond Certification required.
· CMM Operation (Non-Programming) - Inspects products for dimensional accuracy and surface defects per engineering and specifications using the CMM and existing CMM program. Performs quality checks/tests on products at various stages of production.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
· Identifies and handles nonconforming product per company procedures.
· Completes FAI paperwork as required.
· Office responsibilities as designated.
· Promotes and utilizes standard safety practices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; blueprint reading; shop math; ability to read and properly use most precision measuring equipment; ability to make determinations on products meeting engineering, specifications and guidelines; proficient in MS Office software; knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate problems or concerns to management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic shop math and ability to read measuring instruments.
REASONING ABILITY: Good logic and ability to make sound decisions; attention to detail. Maintain a professional work atmosphere by being courteous, respectful and non-interfering with customers, co-workers, and management.

Visual acuity of 20/30 at 20 Foot Minimum – corrected or uncorrected for at least one eye.
Acceptable Jaeger No. 1 near visual acuity, at a distance of 12 inches corrected or uncorrected for at least one eye. A record of color perception capable of distinguishing and differentiating colors used in the processes involved.
