What are the responsibilities and job description for the In Home Chore Aide/Housekeeping (Palatine, IL) position at Center of Concern?
Assisting older adults and persons with disabilities with light housekeeping in their homes; yard work; grocery shopping; light meal preparation, etc.
Specific tasks consist of:
- Vacuuming
- Mopping
- Cleaning surface areas in kitchens, bathrooms
- Wiping windows
- Changing linens
- Washing, drying, and folding clothes
- Shopping
Center of Concern will provide you with clients, however, as an In-Home Chore Aide, you will be responsible for:
- Scheduling and keeping your chore appointments with clients
- Call the client as early as possible if you are unable to make the appointment or need to reschedule. You must also notify the Life Enrichment Operations Manager of any changes to your schedule
- Remain committed to your scheduled hours and chore duties
- Arrive at appointments on time, be courteous
- Dress neatly, be clean and well-groomed
- Speak respectfully to clients at all times
- Complete a timesheet at the end of each service appointment
- Maintain confidentiality with client’s personal information
- This includes any other clients who may know each other, live in the same building, etc.
- Immediately report any injuries or accidents sustained on the job to the Life Enrichment Operations Manager
- Call 911 if an emergency occurs while you are in the client’s home, and then notify the Life Enrichment Operations Manager
- This position does not permit personal use of your cell phone or the phone of the client you are servicing
- When performing any shopping for the client, you may not use the client’s car or take them with you. You must obtain a form of payment beforehand, or be reimbursed directly afterward
- Always keep, maintain receipts regardless of method
- Attend agency training meetings
- Submit timesheets and all related paperwork in a timely manner
- Display professionalism throughout the performance of your job
- Pass a criminal background check
- Reliable and effective means of communication
