Network Operations Center technicians have the opportunity to work with new technologies and state-of-the-art equipment supporting a variety of corporations within an enterprise class data center. The technician is the hands-on support performing tasks such as hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, server imaging, deployment, configuration, rebuild and decommissions. Technicians perform routine and emergency requests through service request tickets as a member of a service team supporting 24x7x365 on-site coverage.
Responsibilities Include:
· Perform tasks as assigned with minimal supervision
· Perform tasks within a collaborative team environment
· Perform ticket management and recording as required
· Provide basic troubleshooting support for servers, infrastructure and network devices
· Diagnose and repair server errors, infrastructure issues and network connectivity problems
· Install/upgrade/replace server, device or network components as directed
· Install/replace/remove servers, devices and networking equipment as directed
· Perform server administrative tasks
· Perform network cable installation and removal to support infrastructure needs
· Perform server maintenance as assigned
· Perform inventory maintenance as assigned
· Perform rack maintenance as assigned
· Perform server Operating System and application imaging/installation
· Perform system firmware and ROM maintenance
· Perform tape backup maintenance
Required Skills and experience:
· 1-2 years’ experience within data centers or related IT fields
· In-depth experience with troubleshooting and installing Windows operating systems, networking equipment and software
· 1-2 years’ experience supporting, administrating and or troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server platform
· 1-2 years’ experience performing network connectivity technology including TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP and DNS
· Familiar with System Virtualization
· Linux experience desired.
· Experienced supporting RAID technology
· Experience/Understanding of ticket management software
· Flexibility to support shift coverage including overnight support shifts
· Must maintain a professional image
· Must be able to work under pressure, handle stress and follow directions precisely.
· Must have a demonstrated troubleshooting experience
· Must demonstrate ability to work with others and promote a harmonious working relationship in the NOC, with other Departments and field personnel
· Ensure all necessary operational processes and procedures are carried out with a high level of attention to detail, expediency and on-time delivery.
· Assist in the creation and maintenance of network and datacenter diagrams and detailed site documentation.
· Strong customer service orientation
· Ethical, fair and of high integrity.
· Able to lift devices weighing over 50 lbs.
· Server , Network , A , MCP towards 2008 MCSE certifications desired
