CenterPoint Energy is looking for a Regulatory & Rates Analyst to join our Regulatory TX Gas Team, located in Houston, TX.
You will have the ability to:
- Prepare and coordinate regulatory filings for CenterPoint Energy Regulated Operations which encompasses a six-state, multi-jurisdiction gas distribution area, the electric transmission and distribution utility in Texas and the electric utility in Indiana.
- Analyze and make recommendations on key developments in rate and regulatory matters.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Prepare and coordinate cross-functional teams in the preparation of, cost recovery applications and other regulatory filings and reports including testimony, schedules, workpapers, briefs, compliance filings and responses to requests for information on a timely basis and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Analyze and make recommendations to management on key developments in rate and regulatory matters that directly or indirectly impact the Company or its business environment.
- Gather financial, accounting and operational information and analyze the impacts on the development of regulatory strategies.
- Review and participate in the formulation of law, rules and policy at the state and federal level.
- Establish and maintain communications with members of various CenterPoint Energy departments and respond to internal requests for information.
- As needed, develop and maintain relationships with external parties such as utility commission staff, industry peer companies and industry associations.
- As required, provide work direction to junior and clerical staff.
Your background includes:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in finance, accounting, economics, marketing, engineering, mathematics or related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience with increasing responsibility for rate and regulatory matters, business administration, finance, accounting, economics, public policy or other related fields.
A bonus to have:
- Master's or law degree.

- Able to proficiently utilize personal computer systems and software, including electronic mail, spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Able to recognize and handle confidential information in a discreet manner.
- Able to provide a valid state driver's license, present and maintain a good driving record and operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Able to support the CenterPoint Energy Emergency Operating Plan.
