Manometry Technician
PRN (As needed hours, approximately 8 hours per week)
Position Purpose
The Manometry Technician is responsible for providing patient care to manometry patients as well as collaborating with other staff with administrative duties including scheduling patients, ordering supplies, and disinfecting equipment.
Essential Job Functions
Required Competencies
· Nursing skills – Strong patient care skill. Comfortable and knowledgeable accessing and de-accessing patient condition.
· Documentation and Information Recording – Possess excellent attention to detail; accurately enter data and patient care documentation; Comfortable with using electronic medical records system.
· Effective Communication – Ability to communicate patient care needs with colleagues both verbally and in writing; educate patients and/or patient families regarding care. Utilize critical thinking skills. Ability to investigate issues and ask follow-up questions.
· Customer Service – Superb listening skills, polite and respectful. Able to develop strong patient rapport. Able to work in a team environment.
· Professionalism – Build solid working relationships with team and support co-workers with patient needs; maintain composure during high stress situations; be respectful toward patients, physicians, and all CFG employees.
Education and Experience
· Minimum of 2 years direct experience
· Current CPR certification
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
· Ability to walk, stoop, stand, bend or sit for extended periods of time.
· Physical demands:
· Walking: 70%- assisting patients, speaking with other departments and physicians
· Sitting: 30%- answering the telephone, working and entering data into the computer.
· Intact fine motor skills to manage medication vials, needles, IV catheters, tubing, etc.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs to include packages and patients.
· Ability to speak clearly to be understood by patients and employees.
· Ability to hear within normal range. Able to hear patients on the phone.
· Acuity near and far. Ability to see within normal parameters and to distinguish colors.
· Work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Esophageal and Anorectal manometry equipment, computer, printer, telephone, fax machine, scanner, copier
