Job Summary and Scope

 

This is a   professional position that provides for the supervision and management of clinical services, including community-based   services. As part of the Leadership Team the Clinical Director of   Adult Services is responsible for oversight and management of their   department and clinical services provided. As part of the Executive Team they participate in planning, coordinating,   and implementing organization-wide administrative and operational functions   in a manner that optimizes successful implementation of the agency’s mission,   vision, and goals. Works within the organization to assure compliance with   state and national standards of care for person centered, recovery oriented   and trauma informed integrated services to persons living with Intellectual   Developmental Disability/ Severe, Persistent Mental Illness (adults), Serious   Emotional Disturbances (children) and Co-Occurring Disorders. These services are provided in Manistee and   Benzie counties. The employee will complete other tasks as needed in various   programs as assigned by Executive Director.

As a member of the CWN team, staff will provide   support throughout the agency, develop leadership skills, complete their   tasks with efficiency and effectiveness and accept that all practices adhere   to a recovery-based practice, providing the supports and guidance to empower   recovery in clients and peers. CWN strives for collaborative relationships   within the community, working with others in a professional, respectful, and   positive manner that enhances a culture of creativity and support.

  

Position Specific – Duties and   Responsibilities

 

Job Specific:

· Interact daily with clients, peers, staff,   and community members promoting quality services and compliance.

· Ongoing   training, education, and skill development to assure staff provide best   practice models of treatment effectively. 

· Using self-direction and excellent   critical thinking skills, must be able to exercise a high level of   independent decision making and work effectively within a team-based   environment. 

· Prepares, implements,   monitors, and manages clinical operation budgets.

· Directs clinical   operations in a manner that optimizes successful implementation of the   agency’s mission, vision, and goals.

· Participates   with the agency wide leadership team for program and organizational   discussions and meetings to implement successful management of programs and   assure services delivery and programs meet the agency mission, vision, and   values. 

· Ensures   compliance within the clinical operations with all applicable laws,   regulations, policies and procedures and accrediting agents.

· Works with the CWN   Board of Directors as directed by the Executive Director.

· Provides   leadership within the agency, community, state, and nationally   in integrated services to persons living with intellectual/developmental   disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders.

· Participates in   team meetings as requested or assigned.

· Contributes to   team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Oversee   implementation and compliance with all policies and procedures of the agency.

Maintains   confidentiality in accordance with CWN policies and procedures and HIPAA guidelines.

· Computer Systems:    All employees must possess a sufficient understanding of computer operation   to be able to navigate in and out of software to effectively learn and   utilize the agency’s electronics systems and various software programs.

Qualifications, Skills, and Conditions

 

Knowledge,   Education and Training (licenses, programs, or certificates):

· Excellent computer skills.

· Outstanding interpersonal   relationship building, supervisory and employee coaching skills.

· Knowledge and   skills in effective leadership and supervisory models, skills in coaching and   staff driven models of training and education.

· Must   process above average written and spoken communication skills to effectively   interact with peers, staff, clients, and community stakeholders.  

· Experience in Behavioral and Physical   Health preferred. Master’s degree in   social work with full state licensure preferred however other related fields   of practice to behavioral health and full licensure will also be   considered. Candidates should also   have Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation as defined by the State of   Michigan and experience in supervision.

· Master’s Degree in social work   preferred. 

· Must be eligible or have completed   certifications and other required expectations in leading specialized teams,   such as children’s services. 

 

Experience:   A minimum of five years of progressively more responsible or expansive   relevant experience is required. Lived   experiences with mental illness, intellectual or developmental disabilities,   and/or substance use disorders is valued.

Three or more   years or supervisory and/or leadership experience managing a team.

 

Interpersonal and   Communication Skills: Regularly requires resolution of   situations and matters characterized by complexity and difficulty through   skills such as negotiation, formalized debate, and formal presentations to   outside groups and individuals which exercise major influence or decision-making   authority on a basic level.

 

Guidance/Work   Direction Received: While the incumbent typically   exercises considerable discretion in interpreting policies, procedures, and   practices and in selecting appropriate alternatives at times they may work   under broad administrative direction using substantial discretion.

 

Supervisory or   Managerial Responsibility: This is a Second level manager position working through one or more   subordinate supervisors. Skills in program management and oversight is   essential. 

Responsible for   overseeing all supervisory conflicts including disciplinary actions as   needed. 

 

Visual   Concentration: Requires an average level of visual   concentration.

 

Job   Complexity: Regularly   requires the use of data and information which are typically a combination of   factual and inferential elements. The   steps, methods, or approaches followed in carrying out planning,   problem-solving, analyzing, or decision-making are generally defined, but   frequently require some modification, adaptation, or creativity. Specific   Requirements:

· Must have a valid Michigan driver’s   license and a good driving record.

· High-level of computer skills, public   speaking and presentation skills, excellent consensus building, and creative   strategic planning skills are required.

· Must be available to work a fully   flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
