What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef position at CentraCare?
Full-time | 80 hours every two weeks | 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. | Every other weekend and every other holiday.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible to prepare and serve food in accordance with established applicable standards and policies and procedures. Responsible for stocking food and supplies and training staff to clean the food production areas and equipment. Trains & supervises the Nutrition Services employees. Organizes, implements and evaluates food production, food delivery systems for the restaurant, deli and SBSC. Purchases food, supplies, and meets with vendors. Provides a dining experience to tenants, patients & guests focusing on hospitality.
EDUCATION:
- Graduate of a Culinary Arts school is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years Supervisory experience
- 2 years of quantity cooking experience with ability to follow quantity recipes and safe / sanitary food handling procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years Experience in a long-term care facility in nutrition services
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to operate institutional cooking equipment.
- Individual initiative and discretion required in carrying out job duties especially in the area of customer relations.
- Basic computer skills.
- Professional and courteous customer service skills.
