This is a full time position working in both Sauk Centre and Long Prairie. As an Exercise Physiologist, you are responsible for patient preparation and supervision for cardiac and pulmonary rehab to include a history of symptoms and prior cardiac, lung diseases related to disease processes. Responsible to develop individualized exercise program based on patient ability related to disease process. Guidelines and protocols will follow ACSM, and work in conjunction with regional partners in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Patients of all ages served. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients, families and with co-workers.
Position Details:
- Full time position
- 80 hours every two weeks
- Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4 pm (No weekends!)
- Work part of the week in Sauk Centre and the other in Long Prairie
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Degree in Exercise Physiology
- If Bachelor's degree, 2 years experience in Cardiac Rehab required or internship at the CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center OR;
- Outpatient cardiac rehab program of similar size
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Current American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Strong working knowledge of ECG interpretation, anatomy, physiology and pathology of heart disease
- Skill in monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, and in the operation of spirometry for the Pulmonary Rehab
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree Degree preferred with similar experience
- American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Specialist
