We are looking for an enthusiastic RMN or RNLD to provide evidenced based care to our service users with a learning disability who also have mental health problems and / or challenging needs.
You will be joining an AIMS accredited ( Accreditation for Inpatient Mental Health Services ) team that is committed to working at the highest standards of clinical practice and who seek to continually improve on this through engaging in regular Quality Improvement projects.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
Main duties of the job
Working as a member of our LD-dedicated multidisciplinary team you will contribute to the care planning and risk management of our service users who may be detained under the Mental Health Act and work intensively with them and their carers, relatives and day service providers.
You would be joining us at an incredibly exciting time as our Learning Disability Services goes through a transformation process aimed at further developing our services and work force.
The LD service has recently appointed an LD Nurse Consultant within the teams and together with our extensive training opportunities for our Nursing staff we believe this demonstrates are ongoing commitment to developing our LD staff.

Both newly qualified and experienced RMN / RNLDs who have experience working with people who have learning disabilities, mental illnesses and challenging behaviour.
Commitment to involving people with learning disabilities and carers in care planning and able to communicate effectively with our clients.

The service also takes part in CNWL’s highly successful Rotation and Development (RAD) Programme , allowing Nurses to rotate in 3 different LD services across both inpatient and community services over an 18-month period.
