Summary :

Performs clerical functions on the unit under the supervision of the charge nurse.

Essential Functions :

Prepares medical record for new admissions

Maintains required logs in the department

Answers the telephone, door, patient call light in a polite manner and communicates the information to the appropriate staff member in a timely manner.

Assist physician with locating charts

Faxes, scans paperwork as needed for nurses and physicians

Required Education :

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Proof of education within 30 days of hire.

Other :

Understanding of medical terminology, basic computer skills, typing, previous secretary experience is preferred
