Environmental Health Inspector
Job Posting for Environmental Health Inspector at Central Connecticut Health District
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, public health, biology, sanitary engineering or related field.
- CT Certified Food Inspector.
- Two years of responsible experience in the field of environmental health.
- Septic, lead inspections and plan review experience.
- Registered Sanitarian/Registered Environmental Health Specialist preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, possess good computer skills, and be able to work safely and independently.
Essential Functions:
- Performs routine inspections of regulated facilities including food service establishments, public pools, hair and nail salons, motels and child care facilities.
- Investigates a wide variety of environmental complaints.
- Performs plan reviews for food service and salon establishments.
- Soil testing, plan review, site inspections for subsurface sewage disposal systems.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary for R.S commensurate with experience. May fill opening at a lower level with non-RS.

- 37.5 hour work week
