PURPOSE
The applicant will be responsible for a wide variety of functions requiring knowledge in customer service,
housekeeping, and general maintenance. The applicant will provide check in and check out services, take
guest calls and will be responsible for cleaning after each cabin guest departure, including but not limited to
linen laundry, dish washing, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms and
bathhouse/laundry facility. The applicant will be responsible for inventory of cleaning and guest supplies. The
applicant will be required to have excellent customer service and professional communication. The applicant
must also be knowledgeable or willing to learn Tlingit & Haida Policies. There may be an option for onsite

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Maintain detailed log of maintenance, reporting items completed and items that need attention.
• Care of outside property including but not limited to light landscaping, snow removal, pest control and
garbage clean-up.
• Report any large maintenance issues for appropriate delegation or further instruction.
• Regular deep cleaning of guest cabins and bathhouse.
• Cleaning after each guest departs, including linens laundry, washing dishes, cleaning bathrooms,
sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, remaking rooms and beds and other tasks as they arise.
• Some gardening and landscaping.
• Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required.
• Sourcing, booking, and supervising contractors for major repairs.
• Monitoring cleaning materials, tools, and furniture and reordering as required.
• Monitoring site for security issues.
• Adhering to Tlingit & Haida safety policies.
• Ability to respond after normal business hours needs of the guests.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Other duties as assigned.

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Must have the ability to communicate professionally and effectively in a friendly manner.
• Professional references.
• Reliable and dependable.
• Ability to work independently and to understand the needs of hospitality operations.
• Aptitude for light maintenance tasks and outdoor landscaping.
• Familiarity with Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian cultures or willingness to learn.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)
• High School Diploma, GED, or 5 years of continuous provable employment.
• Caretaker experience, housekeeping experience, and/or hospitality experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle.
• Personal cell phone.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)
• One year or more experience in caretaker experience, hotel front desk experience, or prior experience
in the travel and tourism industry.

UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS
Most of the work is performed in a rustic lodge setting and can be physical. This position requires lifting
of up to 45 pounds and push/pull strength of up to 85 pounds.
