The Credit Union Teller will do more than handle money; they will establish and nurture relationships with our valued members. A teller handles member’s financial transactions with the utmost care and attention to detail.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve members by managing documents, information, and financial transactions in an organized, efficient, and secure manner.
  • Build awareness of new products and services, and identify customer needs to capitalize on the business referral opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed Credit Union service standards, greeting and acknowledging each customer to make them feel welcome, while complying with Credit Union procedures and security protocols.
  • Work with other tellers as a team to complete daily tasks while demonstrating respect and professionalism, being prompt, and supporting management as needed.
  • Handle transactions for members, including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, cashier’s checks, and opening and closing of accounts.
  • Identify member needs, provide information on new products and services, cross sell products, and direct customers to branch representatives as needed.
  • Reconcile cash drawers at the end of your shift, count and package coins and currency, turn in any excess or damaged currency to head teller.
  • Track, record, report, and store transactional information and special requests.
  • Provide a high level of customer service, offering answers and assistance with a smile.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Cash-handling experience
  • Excellent communication, customer-service, and time-management skills
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Strong dedication to accuracy and efficiency
  • Skills for upselling and recommending products


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Banking Experience Preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service, sales, and money handling.
