What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bio-Medical Technician 1 position at Central Florida Villages?
The Biomedical Technician 1 (BMET I) is an entry-level technical position with primary duty of performing preventive maintenance (PM) inspections and electrical safety testing (EST) of medical equipment. Additional duties will include monitoring work order requests, completing basic repairs, new equipment inspections, documenting all service activities, and updating the equipment management database.
The BMET 1 will provide support to the biomedical equipment users at UF Health Central Florida facilities. There will be occasional travel required for vendor service training. Participates in on-call rotation once technical proficiency is at an acceptable level. A valid Florida Driver’s license and the ability to drive between campuses in order to support the clinical equipment located throughout the UF Health Central Florida facilities is required. These campuses are not within walking distance.
Education:
- Associates Degree: AS or AA in Biomedical Engineering or certificate of training from the military's Biomedical Equipment Maintenance program
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Valid Driver's License: This position is required to drive a company vehicle and must meet the requirements of UF Health Central Florida Vehicle Policy.
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Personal Computer Skills to include working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and MediMizer software
