ROLE SUMMARY
Responsible for all facets of the distribution operation, including personnel management, warehousing, distribution, safety, administration and profit and loss responsibilities.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Handle all personnel management, including recruitment, hiring, training, directing, developing and disciplining employees. Document employee performance and conduct performance evaluations on a regular basis, per Company policy.
- Ensure timesheets for hourly personnel are accurate and complete prior to payroll processing.
- Ensure proper completion of necessary paperwork related to employees, customers, invoices and Hill’s items.
- Communicate with Assistant Operations Manager and Warehouse Supervisor on a daily basis.
- Communicate with Corporate Headquarters on a regular basis regarding operational and personnel issues.
- Monitor the performance of the warehouse and distribution operations.
- Monitor all expenditures to ensure budget compliance.
- Analyze processes and procedures and make recommended changes to improve accuracy and efficiency in the operations.
- Ensure all Hill’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for order accuracy, inventory accuracy and damage are met.
- Ensure the accurate, timely and damage-free receipt and delivery of product. This may include utilizing alternate shipping solutions when needed.
- Provide excellent customer service while minimizing expenses.
- Negotiate competitive prices with vendors for supplies, freight, etc.
- Promote a safe and efficient work environment for all employees. Manage the Safety Committee, ensuring monthly meetings and quarterly building inspections are conducted.
- Ensure operations are in compliance with federal, state and local laws, including the Department of Transportation . Structure delivery routes to maximize efficiencies and minimize expenses.
- Direct the warehouse employees in the proper storage and location of products.

- Responsible for maintaining all quality systems for the warehouse including, but not limited to, AIB standards, compliance with GDPs (Good Distribution Practices) and all employee training required to support quality systems. This includes managing quality processes such as hold requests and mock recoveries when required.
- Manage petty cash
- Maintain personnel and Department of Transportation files
- Oversee maintance of the facility, material handling, and vehicle fleet. Communicate any property issues with the property management company.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Operations or 5 years of previous distribution / logistics experince
- Three years of previous supervisory experience, including hiring, training, development and evaluation of employees.
- Basic understanding of business concepts, including managing a budget.
- Able to read, write and speak English.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and be understanding of people and their problems. Able to h andle all employee issues in a professional and confidential manner.
- Professional, diplomatic and have a sense of fairness and consistency.
- Able to use and operate all warehouse and office equipment including forklifts, slip sheeter, wrapping machine, pallet jacks, 10-key calculator, copy machine, fax machine, printer and phone.
- Working knowledge and comfortable operating computers including S.A.P., Word, Excel, Powerpoint and UPS WorldShip.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations, including Department of Transportation regulations.
- Must be flexible, able to adapt to a changing work environment and able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be an excellent problem-solver, have strong attention to detail and organized.
- Able to handle and resolve problems or employee questions after business hours.
- Organized, detail orientated and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Able to travel overnight when business necessitates.
- Experience with common carriers and UPS.
- Able to perform the physical requirements of the warehouse and delivery positions.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Previous routing evperience is a plus
- Forklist certification is a plus
- Valid Class B commercial driver's license and previous delivery experience is a plus

Salary : $67,700 - $85,800
