Job Description
This position exists to assist the Financial Aid Director in implementing all financial aid procedures and policies and to do so in a fair and equitable manner to all students who are interested in or in need of financial aid. Counsel students in the appropriate area of applications and forms pertaining to financial aid.
Required Qualifications
- English speaking and writing skills sufficient to communicate effectively and efficiently.
- Database management skills sufficient to manipulate and retrieve data.
- Data entry skills sufficient to enter data accurately and efficiently.
- Arithmetic and mathematics skills sufficient to compute the totals, averages and percentages of numerical data and to check or reconcile data.
- Customer service skills sufficient to maintain effective working relationships with other college personnel, students and the general public.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous post-secondary education employment experience.
- Decision-making skills in previous employment sufficient to interpret college, Minnesota State and State and Federal policies, procedures and regulations.
- High level of organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Considerable knowledge of student financial aid programs, regulations and procedures.
- The ability to work well under pressure and deal with difficult people and/or situations in a professional manner.
- Knowledge and understanding of student records processing academic policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of various software programs including: DARS, ISRS, web term course, web curriculum.
