Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology. 10 years of Electrical Engineering experience with electrical equipment maintenance, testing and/or design. Candidates with 7 years of experience as an electrical engineer and a thorough knowledge of Avangrid network equipment, maintenance and testing procedures will also be considered. Supervisory experience and/or Master’s Degree is a plus. A registered professional engineer or the ability to obtain certification is a plus. Skills and Requirements Experience with the interpretation of network operating procedures, safety instructions, the national electrical safety code, regulatory reliability metrics. Experience with ANSI, IEEE, and NETA electrical equipment testing standards. Good Planning, coordinating, and organizational skills. Good communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Good contract management and negotiating skills. Good working knowledge of SAP. Ability to analyze test results. Ability to create detailed reports and process manuals. Familiarity with equipment maintenance concepts such as Reliability Centered Maintenance, Condition Based Maintenance, Etc. Good understanding of Transmission and Distribution Standards Good understanding of Maine Dig Safe Law, the Technical Spec for Locating, and the Dig Safe Process, reporting of damages and processing reports, coordinate payment of fines. Good understanding of how the Maine Dig Safe Law and Chapter 895 MPUC Rule apply to CMP as a Utility, Operator, and an Excavator. Must be able to work with the MPUC Damage Investigators and Locating vender when reviewing damages. This individual will be the CMP expert on Maine Dig Safe Law. Good understanding of the mandated and expected inspection programs and reporting for Distribution and Transmission in Maine by the MPUC and Connecticut by PURA. Good working knowledge of the safe work clearances near energized equipment in OSHA 1910 for qualified people and non-qualified people. Good understanding of Technical Specs for Wood Pole Groundline Inspections, Crossarm/Climbing Inspections, Foot Patrol Inspections, Woodpecker Damage Repairs, Cathodic Protection Inspections, Distribution IR Inspections, Transmission IR Inspections, Helicopter Patrols, Steel pole & Steel Tower Inspections, DLI Inspections, QA/QC of DLI, Wood pole, and Crossarm inspections. This individual will be a member of Dig Safe Systems, Inc., on the board, as a resource to the Dig Safe Board on issues in Maine. Responsibilities Manages and provides direction for network maintenance engineers and engineering contractors responsible for the maintenance of CMP/UI network equipment. (50%). Develops maintenance processes and procedures in coordination with other Avangrid operating companies, corporate initiatives, and regulatory compliance with a focus on safety, reliability, innovation, efficiency, and integrity. (5%). Provides justification for the replacement of obsolete, non-maintainable equipment using detailed engineering analysis and industry norms (5%). Provides oversight of quality assurance for maintenance activities and measures the effectiveness of maintenance programs to ensure compliance with Avangrid processes, procedures, PSC and NERC regulatory standards, ANSI, IEEE, and NETA electrical equipment testing standards (5%). Evaluates test data and performs engineering analyses associated with maintenance engineering activities including root cause analysis for failed equipment. Creates reports on asset condition and/or failure analysis. (5%). Develops the budget for and manages the expenses associated with all CMP & UI network maintenance engineering activities. Provides regular updates on planned vs actual expenditures (20%). Participates in working groups with other Avangrid and Iberdrola companies for new initiatives to align processes, share experiences, and develop global standards. (5%) Provides regular updates on the progress of maintenance activities. Expedites the implementation of maintenance activities when necessary.
