Position Summary:
COTA's Sr. IT Technical Writer performs professional work leading the successful delivery of technical documentation projects in Innovation and Technology and other business units across the organization.
Performs duties in alignment with the 2019-2024 COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision To Move Every Life Forward.
This Position is Responsible For:
- Work with systems administrators, network architects, and engineers to produce and maintain documentation, including computer, network, and storage architecture diagrams, access architectures, hardware and software inventories, end-user guides, quick references, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting procedures, policy and process, and reference documentation.
- Build and maintain document formats and other resources to ensure others can learn and understand the organization's technology as efficiently as possible.
- Learn technical concepts and communicate the information in a way that is engaging and understood by non-technical customers.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders on documentation to improve usability.
- Act as an editor to ensure consistency and clarity.
- Determine document type and delivery based on audience.
- Creates/Maintains a document repository, structure and taxonomy for IT and Innovation documentation.
- Partner with Marketing team to create and maintain internal document templates that meet current brand standards.
- Format, validate, and edit existing documentation.
- Maintain documentation on SharePoint sites.
At Minimum You'll Need:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing or related field and seven (7) years' experience as a writer of technical processes, instructions, publications and/or proposals. An equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field will also be considered.
