What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Analyst position at Central Pacific Bank?
Position Function:
The Business Analyst reports to the Enterprise Project Management Office and will support the Banking as a Service (BaaS) team by developing/delivering solutions and the tools for innovative banking solutions that accelerate fintech partnerships and/or projects and facilitate operational efficiency. You'll be required to apply your knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the project and software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with internal and third-party stakeholders on a daily basis to make progress towards common goals. Job Responsibilities:
Analytics and Reporting
- Performs analysis on a wide range of topics to progress IT capabilities and bank needs
- Engages strategic partnerships (vendors) assessing technology spend and saving opportunities
- Tracks and reports progress towards agreed upon goals and timelines
- Creates, maintains, and retains documentation for each project
Project Participation
- Basic understanding of project management practices and evidence of assisting in driving technical projects to completion; able to translate business requirements into technical requirements
- Create best practices, templates, and automation for build, test, integration, and deployment pipelines
- Analyzes and understands requirements for each BaaS project while working on multiple projects at a time
- Identifies, designs and implements tools, platforms and methods necessary to support projects
- Builds, validates, and maintains reporting and dashboards
- Manage or partner with developers, fintechs or back-office teams to understand their development workflows, and help evolve and standardize them according to best practices
- Research, resource, resolve, and be self-reliant when approaching projects, tasks, and job responsibilities
Automation & Process Improvements
- Identifies, collects and analyzes data for automation & optimization opportunities
- Tests business processes and recommends improvements
- Documents business processes and recommended improvements
- Translates business processes into clear, concise, documented data flows
- Stay abreast of bank’s applications and system capabilities
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in (MIS, Analytics or Business) or equivalent work experience in banking environment
Experience
- Experience working with R, Python and/or JSON
- 1 years of Python, R or other coding experience is preferred
- 3 years of Banking or Fintech experience is preferred
Certifications
- CAPM certification is preferred
- Business Analysis Certificate is preferred
Technical Proficiencies
- Proficiency in modern programming languages Java, Python, Go, JavaScript,(React.js)
- Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
- Design, develop, code, test, debug and document applications to satisfy requirements
- Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
- Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
- Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
- Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
- Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
