Position Overview

The Loader Operator will be responsible for accurately loading feed bins in a safe and efficient manner with a 980 CAT Loader. Must have experience loading trucks on unpaved surfaces. Experience running other heavy equipment is a plus. Expect some downtime during the winter months. This position will be traveling out of town regularly.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Operate 980 CAT loader to transport materials to and from storage and processing areas.
• Operate 980 CAT loader to feed conveyors/bins.
• Inspect equipment prior to operation for any safety or maintenance issues.
• Perform routine maintenance on the loader such as lubricating, fueling and cleaning.
• Create and maintain inclines and ramps to excavated materials.
• Regular travel required.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Six months to one year of experience as a loader operator or similar role.

Experience running other heavy equipment is a plus.

Work Requirements

• Must be 18 years in age or older.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
• Report to work dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Experience running other heavy equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of the concrete production and aggregate needs.
• Demonstrate an ability to work with others.
• Demonstrate comfort in communicating with others to complete tasks.
• Ability to observe safety and security procedures.
• Ability to be self-sufficient and perform tasks and duties without immediate supervision.
• Demonstrate ability to wear and use proper PPE at all times.
• Predictible attendance and punctuality required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching and climbing
• Frequent sitting and operating heavy equipment/loader.
• Position will occasionally require climbing of ladders and steps.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
