Job Description
The Category Manager position is a sales-oriented position utilizing sales, retail insights and category solutions necessary to grow our retailers’ beer category as well as expanding Central States Beverage Company’s portfolio via the space and assortment available in our retail accounts.

We are seeking a self-motivated, organized and results driven individual to represent Central States Beverage Company and our portfolio of brands in a professional manner. This position will combine category selling as well as office work needed to identify, develop, and sell in cooler set projects in our off premise, retail accounts in Missouri and Kansas.

This position looks at account opportunities by leveraging multiple data sources and shopper insights along with a deep understanding of the total beverage alcohol category as well as the current retail environment. The Category Manager’s role requires excellent communication skills that will be used with our retail customers and the Central States sales team. Utilizing JDA Space Planning software, this person will create, sell in, and implement individual account cooler set projects as well as chain account projects from start to finish.

For Quality Assurance purposes, this person will conduct 20 to 25 Quality audits per month across both Missouri and Kansas. Audits will be completed and turned in to the Vice President of Chain Sales at the beginning of each month for the previous month’s audits and then submitted to the Vice President/General Manager for review.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong MS Office skills specifically with Excel, Word, and Power Point. (JDA Space Planning skill training will be provided after hire)
  • An understanding of selling, merchandising, and marketing products in retail accounts encouraged but not required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree encouraged but not required.
  • Previous sales experience encouraged but not required.
