Movers for our Company are the face and backbone of what we do and who we are. You will have frequent contact with both civilian, military, and corporate customers and are expected to be courteous, well groomed, and helpful. Drivers will primarily load and transport household/corporate goods from one location to another.

Job description

As a professional mover, you will be packing and moving customers' household belongings. Moves range from just a single item to an entire home. Items to be moved can often weigh several hundred pounds. Moves involving stairways are very common. The workday can be long (a ten-hour day or longer is not unusual). These demands require a person with above average strength, stamina, fitness and skill.

Essential Functions and Duties:

· Providing quality, customer service at all times.

· You and your team will work together to provide exceptional customer service as you safely move, pack and unpack customer belongings

· Greet the customer upon arrival and complete a walk-through of the premises

· Carrying heavy items long distances and up/down stairways.

· Manually hoisting heavy items.

· Wrapping furniture and equipment.

· Box-pack items such as breakables, books, artwork, knick-knacks.

· Working with moving equipment and tools.

· Disassembling and reassembling furniture and equipment

· Transport goods using a company truck (straight or semi-truck)

· Lead the crew in loading and unloading shipment on to and/or off truck

· Inspect shipment prior to loading for proper packing or wrapping

· Perform accurate inventory of shipment

· Assist as need in loading trucks and/or containers for forward movement via interstate commerce

· Perform pre-trip safety inspections on truck of moving equipment, interior and exterior of truck, straps and tensioners, walk-boards, etc.

· Complete and maintain required documentation and paperwork for shipments, expenses, driver logs, and DOT regulations

· Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Because moving is stressful, we seek “super movers” with a commitment to customer service.

· Must be willing to travel (local, intrastate and/or interstate)

· Ability to operate a box truck or tractor trailer (as applicable to your CDL qualification)

· Excellent communications skills

· Able to work in a team environment.

· Physical fitness and above average stamina for physical labor and can lift 75lbs o a regular basis.

· Ability to be on time and reliable; ability to meet deadlines

· Knowledge of DOT regulations

Required Education and Experience:

· Required: High school diploma or GED

· Required: Valid Driver's license

· Required: Good driving record (will be verified)

· Required: Ability to meet background standards

Driver requirements:

· Valid driver's license and good driving record (will be verified)

· 3 years driving experience

Mover AND Driver requirements:

· Pass a pre-employment background check and regular drug screens

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Excellent customer service skills

· Professional attitude and demeanor

· Experience in the fields of general labor, truck driving, landscaping, construction, material handler or warehouse labor helpful

· Stamina to lift heavy items (100 lbs. or more) repeatedly while climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, walking, etc.

· Good hand-eye coordination

· Strong logic and mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of dollars, weight measurement, volume, distance and time)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
