Financial Services Professional/Office Manager

Lynchburg, VA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/4/2024

Contribute to the future of beautiful, dynamic, growing central Virginia! Some of the nation’s best-known cultural features mark the landscape of central Virginia including the Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Appomattox Court House National Historical Park. They surround the Lynchburg metropolitan area, a full-service urban area with a vibrant downtown, quiet neighborhoods, good schools, quality healthcare, and low crime rates. The region’s six institutions of higher learning and charming villages are nestled in the Blue Ridge’s foothills and the banks of scenic, accessible rivers. Long a railroad town, Lynchburg’s passenger rail station offers three daily departures to Washington, DC, just a couple hours to the northeast. The region is within an hour’s drive of the University of Virginia and within two hours of the state capital and Virginia Tech.

Representatives of ten member local governments in and around the Lynchburg metropolitan area comprise the Central Virginia Planning District Commission. The CVPDC guides and supports the Central Virginia Transportation Planning Organization, the Central Virginia Radio Communications Board, the Virginia Career Works – Central Region, and the Region 2000 Services Authority, which manages municipal solid waste for four localities.

The CVPDC employs 30 – 10 in the administrative office in downtown Lynchburg and 20 at the region’s municipal solid waste landfill in Campbell County. Most are full-time employees with access to a full suite of benefits including the Virginia Retirement System listed at CVPDC.org.
