Position Summary
The Lander/Alpine Science Institute Director is responsible for leadership, management, supervision, and coordination of the course offerings, activities, and facilities offered by the Lander Center and Alpine Science Institute.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides vision and leadership for CWC’s presence in Lander, including work with partner organizations to promote maximum community benefit.
- Manages all Lander resources, including facilities, land, and other infrastructure to promote sustainable growth.
- Coordinates course offerings, activities, events, and facilities for Lander operations, including staffing credit courses in cooperation with the Dean of the appropriate discipline, ordering textbooks and other materials as necessary, preparation of course schedule, etc.
- Oversees student registration in Lander/Alpine Science Institute facilities and assists students with accessing additional student services from the main campus as necessary
- Oversees Lander/Alpine Science Institute facilities, including ensuring proper maintenance and cleaning is done to provide facility users with an aesthetically pleasing learning and working environment
- Oversees preparation of employment documents for staff as required, including semester contracts, hiring authorizations, credential packets, employment forms, etc.
- Oversees community enrichment offerings, including recreation courses and summer camps.
- Develops goals and budget plans to recommend to the Dean of Students
- Under the Direction of the Dean of Students maintains communication and creates visible and accessible link between Lander, Reservation and Riverton communities, including serving as a community liaison and working with local advisory boards, and workforce development efforts.
- Cultivate external partnerships by building local relationships with CWC and the Community through a variety of means including social events, meals, service club meetings, community events, etc.
- Develop and cultivate relationships that result in support for the programs, economic development and CWC in general. Identify and assist with grant proposals and applications, contracts, and other necessary documents.

Position Specifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in management, education, counseling or other related discipline from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education.
- Experience
- Five years of successful experience in higher education, preferably in a community college environment.
- Licenses/Certifications
- Equivalency Statement
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in related field
- Experience supervising staff
- Knowledge of budget monitoring and management of funds

- Comprehensive knowledge of accurate budget administration.
- Knowledge of the Wind River Indian Reservation, the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes, and other underrepresented communities within the college service area.
- Strong interpersonal skills, personal work ethic and high degree of personal integrity. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google Applications for Education (GAFE) and Ellucian/Datatel/Colleague, Student Degree Planning, and other relevant applications.
- Ability to direct and manage the work of others, ensuring effective and efficient operations with demonstrated skill in valuing inclusion in the accomplishment of goals and work tasks.

Level of Supervision
This position operates with significant autonomy under the general supervision of the Dean of Students.

- Physical Requirements
- Tasks require a variety of physical activities, which do not generally involve muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching and light lifting. Regular talking, hearing and seeing required in the normal course of performing the job. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required to perform some essential functions. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and creative problem solving. Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Environmental Conditions
- Work is generally performed in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Travel, weekend and evening work may be required.
