Job Posting for IT Infrastructure Technician at Centre Communications
Centre Communications, Inc is looking for a skilled individual to assist, support and maintain multiple networks and critical infrastructure for Public Safety/911 and other two-way radio communication systems. The ideal candidate will be a competent, skilled individual with great passion for technology. An analytical mindset will be essential for effective troubleshooting and improving the network, and radio systems functions. The ideal candidate should be good at self-teaching/self-learning on multiple topics and can work unsupervised. The job requires visits to the office, tower sites, 911 centers, customer sites and other facilities. A company truck and all tools will be provided after the candidate proves the ability to be out on their own, unsupervised. This is not a remote position, must be available in person.
Responsibilities
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues in a timely manner ensuring minimal disruption to the network.
Hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance of all desktops, laptops, routers, switches and more.
Update design and install well-functioning transport networks, connections and cabling
Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
Evaluate network performance and find ways of improvement/automation
Do regular data backups to protect the organization’s information
Provide technical direction to co-workers on network outages, radio system failures and offer comprehensive advice and instructions
Support 911 Dispatch Console operations, and support advanced RF systems
On-call rotation with additional compensation for on-call time.
Requirements
One to three years’ experience in technology field and/or customer support role
Proven experience as network technician/engineer or relevant position
Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
Good communication and writing skills
Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, OSPF/MPLS and other network technologies
Hands-on experience with common software and Mikrotik hardware
CCNA/Mikrotik qualifications are strongly preferred
Understanding or willingness to learn RF fundamentals
Must be able to work in a combination of office and outdoor environment in various types of weather conditions

Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
