Job Tasks:
- Assists with the implementation of patient treatment programs in the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech/Education Departments according to legal guidelines and under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist. Requires lifting, handling, carrying and manipulating patients, equipment and supplies weighing up to 150 pounds.
- Requires ability to use proper lifting techniques, good balance, and sufficient strength to provide patients with virtually all levels of assistance from standby to maximum assistance. Must have adequate endurance, motor, visual and cognitive skills to demonstrate and/or assist with therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living, social skills, transfers and handling therapeutic equipment.
- Performs toilet and chair transfers without assistance for patients up to 150 pounds utilizing approved transfer techniques. Transfer techniques include standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Patients requiring moderate to maximum assistance and weighing over 200 pounds are lifted and/or transferred by two persons.
- Performs documentation such as daily progress notes, treatment modules, and behavior modification documentation. Performs organizational/administrative projects such as filing and light typing. Sets up and dismantles patient charts in a timely manner.
Experience and Education:
- High School graduation or GED required. Some college preferred.
- Experience in rehabilitation or related field is preferred.
- COVID Vaccination with booster (when eligible) required.
