Centrica Business Solutions is seeking a CoGeneration Specialist for our Asset Management team. The Asset Management team is responsible for monitoring, optimizing and maintaining both Centrica owned and customer-owned assets, with focus on real time operations and facility output. Our managed portfolio includes a wide range of distributed energy assets including solar arrays, CHP, and fuel cells. The successful candidate will work closely with the Manager of Assets & Services and our select O&M providers to ensure the maintenance and management requirements for our Cogeneration fleet are met in a timely fashion, bringing their knowledge of building engineering to maximize CHP run-time while balancing the customer’s facility needs. The candidate will also contribute towards the overall operations of the team by supporting colleagues with administrative, technical, or logistical duties as necessary and as the candidate’s abilities allow. A successful candidate will take pride in managing their duties and “owning” their CHP portfolio while also being offered opportunities to grow and gain industry knowledge and experience working in the renewables space.


50% of the role will include the technical and customer account management of our Centrica-owned CoGeneration units with 5 customer sites. We are looking for someone to be near the following locations:
  • Jersey City, NJ
  • Greater Philadelphia regions


Our Specialist will be accountable for:

  • Weekly record keeping of CHP unit performance and service tickets of units under repair.
  • Navigating online monitoring platforms to download performance data and update internal record keeping.
  • Regular communication with maintenance and service vendor for assigning new service tickets and tracking of repairs in progress.
  • Preparation of monthly and annual reports for CHP stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Periodic client engagement and management of customer inquiries, setting appropriate expectations of repair timeline or to further investigate requested information.
  • Occasional travel to inspect unit condition, evaluate vendor performance, and engage in face-to-face meetings with host customer.
  • Review newly completed projects for completeness of required documentation.
  • Coordinate work between customer facility personnel and third-party service vendors for a small (<10) group of O&M Service Contract customers.
  • Issue summary reports to customers following O&M service completion.
  • Support/Manage ad hoc projects to advance Asset Management’s objectives.

The core components for success in this role are (i.e. must haves):

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years industry related experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience with identifying issues or alarms from a remote monitoring platform and ability to interpret those and communicate potential causes for on-site technicians.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Industry experience – including but not limited to – energy, renewables, technology, and consultancy, would be desirable.
  • Preferred, but not required, knowledge of the distributed energy, general construction, or generator (gas turbine) space.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000-90,000 bonus benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
