Position: Outreach Specialist
Reports to: Director of Development & Communications
Hours: 20 hours per week, June to October (temporary, contract)
Compensation: $22/hour

Founded in 1972 by migrant farmworkers, Centro Cultural del Condado de Washington (Centro) is a community institution for gathering, culture and community building. Today Centro serves as a hub for: arts and cultural events; economic empowerment for families; for community advocacy; supportive housing and stabilization; comprehensive food security services; public health initiatives; senior health and wellness; and year-round K-12 STEAM pathways. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Outreach Specialist is a new role designed to promote Centro Cultural services and events to clients and guests at community events like farmers markets, cultural festivals, service fairs and more. The position involves field work interacting directly with the public. The Outreach Specialist engages with vulnerable and underserved communities, identifying their material issues and aligning them to Centro’s services. This is a relationship-focused position, requiring you to have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to empathize with people of greatly varied experiences, and an appreciation for community-centered solutions. The Outreach Specialist will play a vital role in our organization by raising issue awareness for their organization and connecting with potential clients, understanding opportunities to collaborate, and improve the programming and services of Centro.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily in an office environment, with daily trips to the post office, weekly trips to the bank, and occasional purchasing trips. Working conditions are standard for an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will:
