Job Summary :

Essential Job Functions :

Ensure that the quality of the product being packed meets or exceeds customer requirements.
Perform a variety of tasks and positions in support of plant operations, including but not limited to :
Handle cartons properly and efficiently.
Print labels and verify label information with management.
Ensure cases used are in compliance with customer requirements.
Confirm that dates on cartons are correct based on customer requirements.
Provide appropriate packing material for the product being produced.
Ensure cases are palletized with proper labels, sealed, and stacked with outstanding quality.
Comply with all USDA regulations, Centrum Valley Farms Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, Safety Programs, Biosecurity Policies, Procedures, HACCP, and Food Defense Programs.
Crosstrain and be flexible to perform the following positions within the processing plant :
Machine Operator
Packers
Rail
Shippers

Follow Centrum Valley Farms SQF program as it relates to handling packaging material and documentation to produce a high-quality product for customers.

Resolve immediately correctable issues during daily activities.

Effectively communicate with the plant supervisor, QC, USDA, and plant staff when product changes are made.

Assist in creating a One-Team environment by communicating effectively with all plant supervision and staff.

Value safety and the safety of co-workers.

Follow all safety rules and regulations.

Report unsafe conditions to the plant supervisor immediately.

Keep your work area clean.

Clean up eggs off the floor as soon as possible.

Place trash in the appropriate receptacle.

Be mindful of all moving equipment in your area.

Understand how to safely operate various equipment within the processing plant such as overwrap, tape, pallet wrap machines, forklifts, and pallet jacks.

Immediately report any mechanical problems or poor quality conditions to the Plant Supervisor or Maintenance staff where help is needed for repairs.

Perform all other tasks as requested by management.

Qualifications :

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Prior egg grading machine operator experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Knowledge and ability to use a computer.
Reading and comprehension skills necessary to follow instructions and document carton usage.
Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to twist and bend.
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods on different surfaces, including concrete.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must be able to reach and lift above the head.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
