Our Manager of Internal Controls & SOX Compliance will manage our complex internal control environment across multiple ERP systems and legal entities to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. You will act as the primary contact between key internal and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the documentation and evidence of Centuri’s control environment and identify key controls under and within the COSO framework to ensure compliance
- Supports EDS compliance management as the principal interface for SOX IT controls and ISO standards with internal/external audits
- Help write and maintain policies/procedures in line with the ISO 20000 standards to ensure that the IT organization operates in a controlled manner
- Partner with process owners to update and maintain process documentation, flowcharts and controls
- Perform walkthroughs to validate the existing SOX documentation and ensure that any changes are implemented
- Identify potential SOX implications of changes in the control environment as a result of, but not limited to: IT controls, accounting regulations, internal company policies, system changes, new business acquisitions
- Lead the annual SOX risk based scoping process and any internal and external audit requests/inquires
- Perform periodic evaluations of the existing control environment in effort to understand potential gaps and/or increase efficiencies
- Prepare executive management materials highlighting overall SOX progress and results
- Facilitate on-going communication with auditors including alignment on SOX planning, walkthroughs/testing, audit requests, and deficiency evaluations
- Fulfill, enhance, and promote overall Centuri policy, procedure, internal control, SOX and ITGC requirements

- Other duties as requested by leadership
- Provide relevant awareness training across EDS
- Stay up to date on changes to systems and applications and provide guidance on related controls and policies
- Partner with Accounting to ensure that SOX controls that involve business systems are implemented and operating effectively
- Assist control owners with root cause analysis and track risk management action plan progress
- Identify risks and gaps and facilitate remediation to address observations raised in internal and external audits
- Monitor the control environment and ensure that IT controls are operational and in-line with established policies and procedures and controls methodology
- Lead the effort to ensure appropriate IT controls are designed, implemented, adopted, and monitored for any new acquisition
- Review third-party vendor SOC reports and provide feedback to business leaders regarding IT risks and ensure any supplemental controls are in place
What You'll Have
- Bachelor’s degree in an Information Services, accounting, or finance required
- 5 years previous auditing experience with SOX controls and ITGC standards
- Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA) preferred
- Intermediate-Expert knowledge of IT security controls, ITGC audit standards, and SOX requirements
- Familiarity with common enterprise and web application technologies
- Proven ability to dissect audit findings, remediate, and help implement controls
- Familiarity with ISO 20000 preferred
- Experience in dealing with various levels of management
- The successful candidate must be: a self-starting multi-tasker with the ability to accomplish all assignments timely, independently, and against aggressive deadlines, professional and personable, a skilled communicator, both written and oral, and a team player
- Occasional travel may be necessary

Work Environment
- Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
- Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
- Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
- Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
