JOB TITLE: Human Resources Assistant FLSA: Non-exempt

POSITION REPORTS TO: Human Resources Manager Date: September 19, 2022
SUMMARY: This role performs a wide range of human resources, internal customer experience, and clerical functions that support the overall success of the casino.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work. Arrives at meetings and appointments, on time. Regular and reliable attendance.
- Assists HR Manager in maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard company policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. Refers more complex or confidential questions to HR Manager or other management, as appropriate.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of HR files, records and private conversations at all times.
- Copies, scans, and emails documents for Human Resources department and other departments, as needed.
- Assists in conducting new hire orientation, including in-processing and property tours, as needed.
- Assists HRM with employee training and professional development, to include documentation.
- Assists HRM with planning and executing special events such as benefits enrollment, property-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
- Assists HRM with executing innovative employee recognition programs to support employee morale.
- Maintains inventory and organizes employee uniforms and supplies.
- Performs duties in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act.
- Regularly communicates with property Department Heads to provide support as needed.
- May, on occasion, cross train in other departments to better understand each position/department needs and skill sets.
- Serves as a back up to payroll responsibilities.
- Assists team members with ADP access, processes and/or training, as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including reports, professional correspondence and verbal presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of EEO policy. Shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences. Promotes an inclusive and harassment-free work environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Google, Microsoft office, HIS (ADP) and other HR-related platforms. Efficient and accurate typing and 10-key proficiency is essential.
- Common sense ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Secure password management.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Prior related office experience preferred.
- Prior experience in a gaming environment a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Gaming Support License.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
- May be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
- Verbal communication is required, to include talking and hearing.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Essential duties involve working with large numbers of people while in an inside environment, which can be loud or containing high noise levels.
Salary : $31,400 - $39,800
