Construction Accountant
Responsible for managing the accounts of construction projects by creating detailed budgets, overseeing supplier contracts, evaluating production costs, and verifying invoice statements.
Construction Accountant Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounts payable, daily cash balance reconciliations and invoices
- Review and process subcontract and owner payment requests
- Perform day-to-day accounting functions such as month end close, variance analysis, financial reporting, AP, AR, and billing
- Process weekly payroll
- Responsible for monthly closing and preparation of all monthly financial reports and analyses
- Monitor job progress and any potential overruns against purchase orders or budgets
- Develop written accounting procedures work with team to ensure proper implementation and compliance.
Construction Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance preferred
- 5 years’ experience in construction management/ general contracting and payroll
- Must be a strong and organized leader with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of accuracy are also required
