Lab Technician
POSITION OVERVIEW
Do you love hands-on operation of pilot equipment? Do you want to make a difference in resolving water treatment challenges? CeraMem, a member of Alsys, is looking for a pilot technician in Waltham MA. The pilot technician will be responsible for performing bench-test and pilot studies related to water, wastewater and process liquid treatment processes, both our lab and at the customer’s site. The pilot technician will also be Quality Check activities linked to the ceramic membrane manufacturing process. This full-time, exempt position will report to the Pilot manager. No relocation package or work visa sponsorship will be provided for this position. This position includes benefits (401K, Medical, Dental, etc).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assemble, install and maintain pilot units, with guidance from Pilot manager.
- Operate bench-test, or field pilot unit, as per testing procedure and manual.
- Perform several analytical measurements on site.
- Prepares pilot report.
- Prepare job safety analysis. Promote safety culture.
- Perform membrane Quality Check activities.
- Conduct on-site training with operating, maintenance, and management personnel.
GENERAL EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Academic degree (Associate, Bachelor): Mechanical, Process, or Chemical or equivalent. Engineering technician associate degree is a plus. Alternatively, military service background with in-service training in mechanical or chemical systems.
- Experience working in a laboratory and / or experience with hydraulic systems (tanks, pumps) preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office software required (Word, Excel)
- Demonstrated capability to work as a team member
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- 0-3 years of previous experience required.
KEY SKILLS
- Hands on mechanical ability.
- Requires good workspace organization.
