Location: West Bloomfield, MI
Duration Of Role: 13 week - contract
Pay: $3120 per week
Hours: 40 hours – 10 hour days
Duties and Responsibilities:
PET/CT Technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They show their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET/CT images/studies possible—enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence. And, because our techs work in a variety of environments—a freestanding outpatient center, a mobile coach, or a hospital-based/inpatient facility—their flexibility allows them to deliver the absolute best imaging care at any access point.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, etc. and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients.
2. Produces high quality diagnostic images
3. Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists
4. Trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
5. Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).
Position Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• As applicable, valid state driver’s license required.
• Must be dual certified as a Nuclear Medicine and Computed Tomography Technologist. The following are Dual Certification requirements by certification board: NMTCB or ARRT(N) and ARRT(CT).
o Note: Team Members hired prior to August 20, 2016 may hold the NMTCB(CT) or ARRT(R) credential in lieu of the ARRT(CT), if the state allows
• State license required as applicable.
• A minimum of one year of PET and/or PET/CT and either X-ray or CT experience required.
o Note: Team Members hired prior to August 20, 2016 may have had previous experience in xray in lieu of Computed Tomography experience.
• Local travel may be required.
Skills:
Organized efficient and multifunctional. Ability to work independently. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates effective communication. ARRT and BLS required. 1 years of high-volume MRI experience with MR certification. Experience with GE would be preferred.
Minimum Requirements:
•High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• BLS CPR Certification through the American Heart Association only
•ARRT (R) required, ARRT(MR) preferred.
•Venipuncture Certification required.
•As applicable, valid state driver’s license.
•State license as required.
•Technical proficiency operating GE 1.5T or other designated vendor scanning equipment.
•Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently.
•Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed environment.
•Previous experience managing customer interactions independently and resolving problems to mutual satisfaction.
•Demonstrated patient care skills with ability to explain complex medical terms and procedures in a manner that is easily understood by a non-medical audience.
•Local travel may be required.
