The Blending Supervisor will be reporting to the Plant Superintendent. The incumbent is responsible for directing the operations of the Blending and Grinding departments in order to minimize production costs and attain quality goals.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the Plant Blending DepartmentManages Key Operating Indicators such as throughput and pounds-per-hour
Participates with department budget preparation and tracks expenses
Collaborates with R&;D, Logistics, and Process Engineering to resolve issues affecting production
Interfaces with the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Reliability Pillar on plant improvement efforts

- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) LeadershipActive EHS pillar team member
Promotes a safe work environment, leads safety huddles and STOP procedures
Understands forklift safety requirements
Understands incident reporting requirements and promotes proper timely incident reporting
Reviews weekly plant open near-miss report inventory as well as EHS safety/housekeeping file to complete assignments on time
Insures completion of required Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS) audits and annual training for himself and Blending/Grinding department
- Education – Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering and or Business or similar discipline) or at least 10 years of plant manufacturing experience in a variety of functions
- Experience - Minimum of 2-4 years of manufacturing environment experience
- Special knowledge - The ideal candidate must 1) have a clear understanding of blending/grinding and its components, 2) have an understanding of chemical and material properties in a manufacturing environment, particularly with regard to chemical blending operations, and 3) demonstrate a good:
- Understanding of maintenance and purchasing operations for blending system
- Quantitative, analytical and computer skills, including:
- Excel, Word and Power Point
- Experience with software (SAP)
- Coaching and staff development skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with teams
- Interpersonal skills
- Team leadership skills
- Active listening skills

Pay: $59,600.00 - $89,500.00 per year
