Alarm Installation Technician (AIT)
PURPOSE & SCOPE
AIT will work to install, program, and test all access control, CCTV, fire and intrusion systems. AIT will provide support for ALL aspects of a system installation, including but not limited to, cabling, mounting and terminating devices, control panels, conduit and any other tasks required to facilitate the work being done. AIT will work with the Installation Manager, Sales Consultant and Customers to provided Customer Care, which meets or exceeds the Customer’s expectations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES
*Installation of security, access control, fire, intercom, telephone and CCTV systems.
Complete paperwork directly related to the installation of these systems.
*Notifies Sales Consultant and/or Installation Manager of job changes.
*Demonstrate continual performance improvement and initiative to learn for future advancement.
*Providing complete and accurate system training to customer if necessary.
*Perform daily routine check-in as required by management.
* Communicates scheduling issues with Installation Manager.
* Performs related services as required.
*Maintain a Professional Appearance at all times.
*Be on after hours call (ready for service) at scheduled intervals.
SUPERVISION – AIT reports directly to the Installation Manager. Installation Manager will, per individual job requirements, place AIT under the supervision of another technician, salesperson etc.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
AIT will be provided training. A background in electronics, residential and commercial cabling, carpenter and mechanics is very beneficial for success.
LANGUAGE SKILLS – AIT must possess, or be capable of developing, strong reading comprehension, written, verbal communication skills.
REASONING ABLIITY - AIT must define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. AIT must be able to effectively deal with all problems arising from an installation
MATH SKILLS – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
COMPUTER SKILLS – Working Knowledge of basic computer functions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS – AIT is a physical job including, but not limited to, standing, bending, reaching with hands, lifting, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing and balancing. Working environment conditions include, but not limited to, hot, cold, wet, windy, dusty, tight, high in altitude, noisy and/or crowded.
JOB LOCATIONS – Some projects are geographical located to requite AIT to use hotel accommodations. In these cases the AIT will receive an expense account for meals and lodging.
COMPENSATION – $12 hr. to start – evaluation phase. Otherwise negotiable. BCBS, 401K, Vacation, Uniform, vehicle & tools to follow at appropriate intervals. .
