Responsibilities
At CESO, an Architecture Manager oversees all aspects of technical responsibilities, including QC, scope and fee management, and development/growth of staff within a Business Unit. You will have primary responsibilities that include:
- Provide Architectural team leadership of technical and design efforts, including Quality Control, workload balancing and staffing needs
- Serve as a technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area
- Supervise staff and technicians, and act as team resource on complex issues
- Organize and lead sessions with production team to discuss current events, share best practices, and identify new opportunities for influencing results
- Responsible for the architecture team budget, labor hour utilization, and participating in development of best practice standards and procedures
- Communicate best practices to architecture and design team and ensure understanding and compliance with roles, responsibilities, standards, procedures, and specifications
- Provide guidance to Architectural teams by delegating and coordinating the work of the teams, working with Team Leaders to assemble well-balanced teams of Designers, Interior Designers, Architects and other production staff to execute the design and construction document process
- Oversee and guide the design construction documentation process of projects produced using computer aided design (CAD) and/or building information modeling (BIM) software
- Serve as quality assurance and quality control leader and reviewer in the company
- Review the work of others and provide feedback and/or redlines for others to address
- Management and guidance of the team’s overall flow and quality of work within the Business Unit
- Provide interpretation of company and AHJ standards on all designs and layouts for team members
- Provide high level of customer service to team members, clients and potential clients, including setting and attending team and client meetings
- Assist teams with coordination of drawings and design information produced by subconsultants, including the oversight of Civil, FP, S and MEP document reviews to assure coordination with architectural designs
- Work with team members to establish, maintain and/or implement company drawings in compliance with company drawing and CAD/BIM standards
- Additional Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Establish team composition, balance workload among teams, and align project teams with project managers and clients
- Determine staffing levels and needs, interview, and provide feedback to Recruiting regarding potential candidates for open positions
- Complete and administer staff performance reviews and development plans
- Maintain regular and effective partnerships with Business Unit Leaders, Market Leaders, Practice Area Leaders and other Technical Leaders to determine staffing models and ever-evolving priorities
- Perform other project and supervisory duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture with 10 years’ experience as a registered architect; or in lieu of a degree, 20 years of Architecture experience with a current registration
- Experience leading a team
- Architectural License (active) required
- CSI – CCS and/or CDT certification preferred
- LEED certification preferred
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D Rendering Software, Photo Editing Software, Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel
