Responsibilities
At CESO, a Mechanical Staff Engineer - 2 is responsible for assisting in the execution of design, calculations, and document productions for assigned projects, completing all tasks on a project on time, on budget, and consistently within industry standards. You will have primary responsibilities that include:
- Develop design approaches and concepts in collaboration with senior design staff
- Perform calculations and design engineering systems in collaboration with internal staff
- Prepares system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and schedules
- Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for conformance to plan documents and project specifications
- Prepare and modify studies, plans, reports, specifications, and designs for projects as directed
- Learn and apply local, state, and federal regulations
- Learn and adapt engineering information, codes, and standards into the project designs
- Visit project sites to verify existing conditions and/or observe construction progress
- Establish communication of design requirements with architects, contractors, and equipment manufacturer representatives to determine project scope and feasibility
- Support engineers and project managers in daily planning, coordination, and completion of projects
- Other project duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college with a minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Profession Engineer license (PE) required
- Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) and certification as an EIT with a state licensure board required
- Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, AEC industry, codes, and standards
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Revu, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and other industry software as required
