Hands-on part-time position responsible for setting up, checking, and correcting operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment while adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Essential Tasks and Duties: • Perform testing of electrical components using automated test equipment, LCR & multi meters, oscilloscopes, etc. • Set up and configure test equipment under detailed guidance to perform routine component testing. • Performs diverse mechanical and electrical tasks under close supervision or detailed procedural guidelines. • Helps out in the warehouse (shipping & receiving). • Performs general office maintenance (such as filing) and other duties as assigned. Desired Skills and Abilities: • High school graduate with strong math skills; preferably with a 2-year degree in engineering or electronics technology. • 0-3 years experience in the field or in a related area. • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office required. • Basic knowledge of Draftsight or similar CAD program a plus. • Some knowledge of inductors or transformers is desirable. • Ability to read and understand engineering documents, schematics and drawings a plus. • High attention to detail. • Strong basic math skills. • Able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Pay commensurate with experience. About 20 hours a week. We are flexible in regard to mornings vs afternoons. Engineering students currently enrolled in college are encouraged to apply.
