System on a Chip (SoC) Design Engineer

CFD Research is looking to add talented electronic packaging specialists. These engineers will work with a team developing secure, trusted technology for use in DoD systems. The new group is still standing up its capability but are rapidly becoming a trusted source for development and production of electronics for use on systems requiring protected technology. The primary focus of this role will be to develop package process engineering for use on future development and prototyping efforts.

In this role, candidates will support a variety of efforts with a focus on defining mechanical outline and construction details, connector selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, oversee electrical layout and be responsible for final technical data package. The typical products developed will be prototypes or low-rate production efforts.

Qualifications:

• Candidate must be a US Citizen. Position will require eligibility to obtain (and then maintain) a Top Secret Clearance
• Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Materials, Computer, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or relevant STEM discipline).
• 2 years of experience in the design and test of electronics packaging for military, industry, or aerospace applications
• Experience with semiconductor chip packaging
• Experience with Advanced packaging, such as 2.5D Heterogenous Integration, for combining chips into packages for lower power and cost
• An active secret level security clearance
