Full Time Mental Health Clinician (MA Level)

Provides for the care and management of the mental health needs of the student population of a School Based Youth Services Program.
Responsibilities
- Provides mental health services such as intake, crisis intervention, individual counseling and group counseling for students who attend School Based Youth Services Program.
- Analyzes psychological/psychosocial aspects of individual interrelationships to gain understanding of an individual’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
- Acts as a member of the program team to determine, coordinate and implement appropriate mental health interventions.
- Prepares and regularly maintains progress notes, mental health assessment and case management of students.
- Maintains a therapeutic and safe environment for all students.
- Facilitates regular therapeutic groups that address specific identified treatment issues and reinforces the student’s treatment plan.
- Provides community resources and referrals for students.
- Provides observational feedback within the multidisciplinary team context.
- Attends community meetings to network and support efforts of School Based Youth Services Program
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field.
- Must possess prior working experience with youth.
- Some evenings and weekends hours will be required as needed.
