OverviewUnder the supervision of the physician; provides direct medical care to the patient, instruction to nursing staff and unlicensed personnel and education to the patient.
Responsibilities* Obtains, evaluates and records medical histories.* Performs physical examinations.* Orders necessary testing for routine and acute health care evaluations.
- Collects specimens, when necessary, for pathologic examinations.* Analyzes and interprets data, formulates problem lists and establishes appropriate plans for management of clinical problems.
- Initiates necessary consults to specialists and other health care professionals.* Counsels and educates patients on health related matters.
- Provide management for acute and chronic illnesses.* Prescribes necessary medications, as authorized by law.* Provides consultative services to the Health Services Administrator and designees on patient health related issues.
- All other duties as assigned.Qualifications* Must possess a Master's Degree from an accredited school.* Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant program.
