What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inspector position at CFI Dedicated, Inc.?
Job Summary:
No Experience required, all training provided. Responsible for inspecting tractors trailers and completing minor repairs to fuel island(s). Perform washing and detailing of CFI equipment as designated by management. Keep all work areas clean and free of debris.
Essential Functions:
- Inspect tractors and trailers for equipment failures and defects
- Prepare and follow the preliminary Equipment Interchange form/process [Laredo, TX only]
- Perform Lock Out/Tag Out process
- Perform annual inspection (training provided)
- Basic mechanical repair, i.e. lights, wipers, decals, etc.
- Ensure unit(s) meets CFI appearance standards
- Preparing equipment for new drivers
- Building your skills through Training and hands-on coaching to perform minor repairs and performing preventative maintenance inspections.

Scope and Accountability:
Completes moderately complex tasks following well-defined procedures; may involve a variety of work routines; applies a range of experience and/or skills; selects the appropriate alternatives from a variety of defined options; may provide on-the-job training to new team members.
Knowledge and Experience:
- No experience required
- Ability to work in damp atmosphere
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs overhead
- Ability to repeatedly enter/exit CFI equipment
- Regular and timely attendance is also an essential fob function
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment and a light industrial environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office equipment and industrial equipment.
