Job Description
The Corporate Tax Account position reports to the Finance Director and will oversees the Company's tax reporting and accounting activities.
- Preparation of supporting workpapers for the US federal income consolidated tax return.
- Maintains compliance in filing US state sales/use tax and property tax returns on a timely basis. Primary state filings include, but not limited to, Texas and Oklahoma.
- Calculates monthly book to tax provision identifying and valuing temporary and permanent tax differences.
- Assists in calculation of tax credits, deductions and tax studies, including research tax credit, 263(a) unicap, foreign withholding tax and transfer pricing study.
- Primary liaison with parent entity tax compliance team and external tax consultants.
- Preparation of reconciliations, journal entries and other analyses to support various tax accruals.
- Researches and advises on all tax areas.
- Coordinates reporting of financial data to US Governmental Agencies.
- Supports financial accounting team in additional general ledger and financial reporting tasks as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
Must have a B.S. in Accounting (or higher); CPA is desired. A minimum 3 to 5 years of public accounting and/or industry accounting experience including tax accounting and compliance.
A thorough understanding of US corporate and state tax regulations. Experience with integrated accounting software and personal computer spreadsheet, database and word processing applications. SAP experience a plus.
Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to act as a liaison between finance and other departments with parent company tax preparer.
