CGH Technologies, Inc. (CGH) is a business solutions firm, specializing in Data Management, Software Engineering, and Business Intelligence solutions. Located within the Washington corridor, CGH has worked successfully with Government, Commercial and International sectors, providing management consulting, software development and facilities/infrastructure design, maintenance and program management support of large, complex operational environments. CGH has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned UI/UX Designer/Developer to join the CGH Team.


Purpose:

This candidate must be customer focused, have excellent time management, communication, leadership, and follow-up skills. Will be responsible for delivering the best online user experience and ensure that all elements of the user experience are optimized for usability, usefulness and exceptional visual design.



Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, new designs, and code.
  • Optimize existing user interface designs.
  • Test for intuitiveness and experience.
  • Communicate with clients to understand business goals and objectives.
  • Develop technical and business requirements and always strive to deliver intuitive and user-centered solutions.
  • Work directly with our software engineers to support design implementation.
  • Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements.
  • Create prototypes for new product ideas.
  • Test new ideas before implementing.
  • Conduct ongoing user research.

Qualifications


Number of Years Experience Required:

  • 5 years experience as an UI/UX Designer or similar role.

Minimum Education and Certifications Required:

  • Bachelors' Degree in related field - Computer Science, Engineering, or Math is preferred.


Technical Skills Required:

  • Highly proficient in all aspects of the creative process: including sketches, user flows, mood boards, prototypes, wireframes, and developing web pages that drive results.
  • Knowledge of Adobe range of products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Dreamweaver.

Computer Skills:

  • Experience with HTML5 & CSS3.
  • Some knowledge of Usability Factors in Human Computer Interaction.     

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • U.S. Citizen or person with valid U.S. Work Visa who has lived in the U.S. for 3 or more years.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interface with the customer and interpret requirements.
  • Ability to communicate requirements.
  • A team player but can work independently too.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear and use a computer/keyboard/mouse for several hours on a daily basis.
  • May require occasional light lifting of up to 10 pounds.



Candidates selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements.
