CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Engineer I to join our Highway & Rail Team from Duluth, GA.

CHA’s highway professionals have planned, developed, and provided solutions to municipalities, metropolitan planning organizations, public and private authorities, and state transportation agencies for nearly 70 years. Addressing the immediate travel needs and expectations of today’s society and anticipating the mobility and modal challenges and opportunities that will accompany our next generation requires comprehensive planning, engineering, and implementation. CHA's rail professionals have hands-on industry backgrounds and deep relationships with regulatory agencies. Over the past 25 years, we have planned, programmed, assessed, and selected all types of rail sites. We have coordinated, designed, and reconstructed all types of rail facilities, tracks, and infrastructure for a full range of public and private passenger service providers.
Working closely with professional engineers, the Engineer I assists in the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, our Engineer I works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.
The Engineer I aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. The Engineer I performs simple calculations and engineering design using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, client, etc. The Engineer I solve routine problems by applying defined procedures and attends field assignments when appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
- EIT certification is preferred
- No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
- Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
- Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
- Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
- Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
