We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer IV, Building Design to join our MEP Team and we welcome applicants interested in a hybrid work schedule from one of the following CHA office locations: Albany, NY; Brooklyn, NY; Syracuse, NY; Richmond, VA; Atlanta, GA; Parsippany, NJ; Rochester, NY; Indianapolis, IN; or Boston MA.

Our professionals will perform a thorough analysis of your systems and utilize proven methods to optimize performance.
The Mechanical Engineer, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of projects within his/her discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of mechanical engineering including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection. At CHA, our Mechanical Engineer plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. This key role provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff. The Mechanical Engineer provides technical development of proposals, construction documents, and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)
The Mechanical Engineer resolves highly complex technical issues, and continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems. The Mechanical Engineer recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- Professional Engineer License (PE) required
- Minimum of 4 years progressive engineering experience is required
- Strong knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
- Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Familiar with QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
- Proficiency with MS Office software required
