POSITION OVERVIEW


Chairish Inc. is looking for a Buyer to join our eCommerce retail team to help grow and manage our replenishable contemporary assortment. This position offers the unique opportunity to develop and shape a business that will complement our established vintage offering. We are looking to further differentiate Chairish in the marketplace and ensure we are offering a comprehensive assortment to support any interior project or home. This role will require you to apply your traditional retail buying experience in a broader marketplace business model.


In this role, you will provide key leadership to category assortment planning, new vendor partnerships, and overall business optimization. You will help drive profitability and efficiency by utilizing various payment models, targeted promotional strategies, and extensive negotiation. Because curation is a key tenant of our brand, you will have a point of view on assortment editing that is rooted in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. You will also ensure that your business tracks with our overall strategic and operating plans.


This role is highly collaborative and will work in tandem with our Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, Development, Customer Support, and Analytics teams in order to maximize all of our opportunities for growth.


Responsibilities:


  • Maximize business performance and profitability for category(ies) through rigorous analysis of KPIs and sales trends; identify and implement actionable opportunities to further grow the business.

  • Drive category vision and growth through assortment curation and optimization; identify and go after key product needs, new vendor partnerships, and white space in order to meet SKU count and sales goals. Determine appropriate pricing model for specific partners/assortments in order to drive efficiency and profitability.

  • Communicate weekly/monthly/quarterly sales updates and identify actionable opportunities to further grow or compensate for misses

  • Spearhead merchandising assortment plans for relevant categories; partnering with merchandising team on calendar and emails to bring strategies to life

  • Lead the seasonal promotional strategy for your categories

  • Oversee entire product lifecycle bringing SKUs from conception to site - inclusive of pricing, copy, imagery, and exposure strategy.

  • Proactively cultivate partnerships and work to anticipate issues before they arise; communicate with top vendors consistently to foster relationships that make Chairish a great partner and drive topline sales for both parties.


Your Experience:


  • 7 years of Buying/Merchandising experience within an e-commerce/digital environment

  • Demonstrated passion and knowledge of the home category

  • A proven track record of partnership and collaboration with key stakeholders

  • Excellent vendor management skills

  • Solid understanding of retail math

  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a “get it done” attitude
