JOB SUMMARY – Facility Technician

Essential Technical Skills (in coordination with technical training modules, not all-inclusive):
- Understand the proper application and safe handling for new, replacement refrigerants used in air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Be familiar with all facets of air conditioning/ refrigeration operation including piping, brazing, wiring, and safety essentials
- The overall concept of different restaurant equipment its operation and servicing concerns
- Understand how cope with changing work loads
- Understand basic refrigeration troubleshooting, diagnostic tools, troubleshooting, and schematics
- Understanding of the procedures used when replacing compressors that fail due to motor winding burnout, mechanical failure, system contamination, and troubleshoot refrigeration system problems that lead to compressor failures
Minimum Education, Training, Certifications & Experience Required:
- A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred as well as a minimum of two (2) years of electrical/HVAC service training or completion of an approved training program.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of related HVAC service experience. Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- EPA certification and a working knowledge of electrical and gas diagnostics and air flow are required.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong communications/human relations skills.
